Hoping to keep our good run going.

I'm so pleased to be coming into the York Ebor meeting off a profitable Goodwood for Betting Emporium followers. We also had a good Royal Ascot and an excellent Aintree and if we'd have had a better week in the Cotswolds in March we'd be shooting at the clean sweep. None of that means we are guaranteed to win this week of course, last year at York was pretty bad, so I'm just hoping we bet horses that I think are good value and they don't get unlucky in running. It's certainly a great week of racing.

We have now done 31 racing festivals for BE and won on just 14 while we lost on 17, but luckily we tend to win more on the good ones than we lose on the bad and we are in front around 8% on turnover. That number is a little lower than I'd like or expect and I think it can go higher in the next year. This week we have four days and either six or seven races each day for a total of 26 races I think. Each day I will send the write up for the first race at 9am and then the others will follow at thirty minute intervals, so on the days with seven races you'll get the last one at noon which will still give you time to get bets on before the first race. It's true I could do them all at once or all a bit earlier but that would possibly mean I have to rush things, would definitely mean I don't get to factor in late non-runners and weather and it would also mean I don't get to benefit from speaking to one or two people and swapping ideas on the later races.

In some races I will suggest four or five bets and in some just one or no bet at all. Most bets will be each-way but some will be win only and stakes will vary from 1 Point up to 50 Points on any individual bet but usually I'll stay in the ten to thirty region. I will probably average around 28 Points a race but some will be a lot higher and others might have no bet at all. I will write my thoughts up on all races even if I don't suggest a bet and sometimes I may point out my suggestions for a lay or a place lay but those won't count in the results.

If you are wondering how much you ought to bet or whether this is something you ought to get involved in let me give you an idea of the range of results you might expect. If you bet £5 a Point and we bet 28 Points a race over 26 races then you'll be laying out £3,640 over the four days and if we make the 8% that we have averaged at BE then you'll win £291 and pay us £100 for our hard work. Hopefully that would seem like a good week's work and all worthwhile. That would mean having a lot of £75 bets and staking £140 a race and if those numbers all sound totally uncomfortable then I would very strongly suggest you just give the whole thing a miss. I'm certainly not looking to encourage people to gamble with money they can't afford to lose and I don't want to spend the week worrying about the financial problems of any of our clients. If you were thinking of betting £1 a Point then you'll be having a lot of £15 bets and betting £28 a race and that could be good fun but maybe when you win your £58 and have to pay us £100 you might feel a bit fed up. If you like following the horses and consider it all to be a bit of fun then feel free to do it and bet £1 a Point...we couild easily have a week like we did at Aintree where we win 40% and you win £291 so you are very happy...but of course the average is just that and it's possible we lose.

My plan for the week is to get up at 3am each morning and try and get cracking nice and early and the others at BE will be working hard on social media and dealing with queries and admin so none of us will be looking for a row at all during the week. If we do lose you can guarantee we have all lost and we won't be in the mood for any abuse on social media or by email. If you feel like you are the kind of person who might do that sort of thing after a bad day then please don't sign up...you're not the kind of customer we are looking for and we don't want your money. If we lose we'll have still all worked hard so we won't be doing any refunds and we won't expect you to pay double if you have a great week.

We will stick to our strict rule, as we always do, that we only tip at prices that are freely available. Generally I'll only suggest firms to the left of the page if you are looking at Oddschecker and if possible we'll go for a price offered by two firms where one has shops in the high street to give all types of punter a good chance to get on. These days there are a lot of variations of place terms so I won't be able to tip a bet getting six places if all other firms have just five and the results database that we are very proud of building up over the years could have easily had a higher ROI if we'd tipped at "mythical" prices but we've never wanted to do that. It is still a good idea to get a few accounts with lots of firms though or maybe to think about using BetConnect so you can shop from a variety of prices through one site.

Hopefully that hasn't put too many nice peoploe off and you'll still fancy joining us and we'll have a great week.

The full four day package, all the analysis and write ups plus details of all the bets that we have is £99 and you can sign up here
